Tailored NDIS Speech Pathology Services

We recognise that no two NDIS plans are the same, because no two people are the same. We take the time to understand your unique strengths, challenges, and aspirations. Our comprehensive NDIS speech pathology services fall under the Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living budget and include:

  • Speech Clarity & Articulation: Assisting participants to produce speech sounds clearly so they can be easily understood by family, teachers, and peers.
  • Language Understanding & Expression: Therapy to help build vocabulary, follow instructions (receptive language), and construct meaningful sentences (expressive language).
  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC): Expert assessment, trial, and implementation of AAC systems. We support everything from Key Word Sign and visual boards to high-tech speech-generating devices and iPad apps (like Proloquo2Go).
  • Social & Pragmatic Skills: Helping neurodivergent children and adults navigate social situations, build meaningful friendships, and advocate for their needs in a neuro-affirming way.
  • Dysphagia (Swallowing) Management: Comprehensive mealtime assessments to ensure food and drinks can be consumed safely, comfortably, and enjoyably.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I use my NDIS funding for Speech Pathology at daar?

Yes, absolutely. Our specific services are covered under the Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living category of your NDIS plan. At Daher, we provide services to participants who are Self-Managed or Plan-Managed. If your funds are NDIA-Managed (Agency-Managed), you may need to chat with your Support Coordinator or LAC about adjusting your plan to access our independent services.

Do you collaborate with my other NDIS support workers?

We highly encourage a multidisciplinary approach! Our Speech Pathologists love working alongside your Support Coordinators, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, teachers, and support workers. By collaborating with your entire NDIS team, we ensure everyone is on the same page and working towards the exact same goals.

I need an AAC device. Can a daar Speech Pathologist help me apply for NDIS Assistive Technology funding?

Yes. If you or your child require an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) device, our Speech Pathologists can conduct the necessary trials and complete a detailed Assistive Technology (AT) application stringently aligned with NDIS guidelines to help you secure the funding for your device.
