How daar Supports NDIS Participants

We understand that every NDIS plan is uniquely built around the participant's goals. Our speech pathology services are highly individualised. Our Canterbury clinic provides assessment and ongoing therapy for:

  • Speech and Articulation: Supporting clearer speech sounds so participants can be easily understood by their family, teachers, and the broader Canterbury community.
  • Receptive & Expressive Language: Helping individuals understand instructions and effectively express their needs, thoughts, and emotions.
  • Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC): Prescribing, setting up, and training participants and families on AAC systems—ranging from low-tech picture boards to high-tech speech-generating devices and iPads.
  • Social Communication: Fostering skills to build meaningful relationships, engage in community activities, and confidently advocate for oneself.
  • Mealtime Management (Dysphagia): Expert assessment of swallowing difficulties to create safe, enjoyable mealtime management plans.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What types of NDIS funding does daar accept?

daar is set up to support Self-Managed and Plan-Managed NDIS participants. You can utilise your "Capacity Building - Improved Daily Living" budget to access our speech pathology services. If you are Agency-Managed (NDIA-managed), you may need to speak to your Local Area Coordinator (LAC) about changing your funding management style to access our clinic.

Can daar write progress reports for my NDIS plan review?

Absolutely. We understand that comprehensive reporting is vital to maintaining the right level of support. Our Speech Pathologists track your progress closely and will write detailed end-of-plan progress reports or functional assessments. Please inform our team of your plan review date at least 4 to 6 weeks in advance so we can prepare this documentation.

Do you offer therapy at home or school, or just in the Canterbury clinic?

We believe that therapy is often most effective when it happens in a natural environment. While we have a wonderful, welcoming clinic in Canterbury, we also offer mobile speech therapy visits to homes, preschools, schools, and day programs across the Canterbury-Bankstown and Inner West areas, subject to therapist availability. We also offer Telehealth sessions for ultimate convenience.
