About the role

As a behaviour therapist contracting with daar, you’ll plan and deliver person-centred interventions, collaborate with our speech pathology, psychology, and occupational therapy teams, and work within our clinical governance framework and NDIS practice standards.

Documentation & reporting
  • Keep timely, accurate session notes and progress data in daar’s systems.
  • Prepare reports for families, referrers, and funding bodies (e.g., NDIS progress reports).
  • Record services accurately for invoicing and audit.
Collaboration & communication
  • Liaise with internal clinicians and external stakeholders (GPs, schools, support coordinators).
  • Contribute to case conferences and risk reviews as required.
Safeguarding & quality
  • Comply with NDIS practice standards, child safety, and mandatory reporting.
  • Follow daar’s clinical governance, privacy, and incident management policies.
  • Escalate risks, safeguarding concerns, and any restrictive practice matters promptly.
Minimum requirements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in behavioural science, psychology, education, applied behaviour analysis, or a closely related field.

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or eligibility).
  • Driver’s licence and reliable transport.
Checks & registrations:
  • As above, all must be current and valid.
Skills & experience:
  • 1–2+ years delivering behaviour interventions with children or young people (NDIS experience an advantage).
  • Data-driven practice (e.g., ABC data, scatter plots, goal attainment).
  • Strong communication and coaching skills with families and educators.
  • Confident with digital notes, telehealth, and case management systems.
Nice to have
  • Experience delivering PBS under state restrictive practices frameworks.
  • School-based support experience and team-around-the-child collaboration.
